UKRAINE’S PRESIDENT CALLS THE WEST “COWARDS” FOR USING HIM AND HIS COUNTRY TO POKE THE “RUSSIAN BEAR” AND THEN LEAVING THEM TO THEIR FATE
Everybody has heard by now what is happening in Ukraine. An angry Russian bear has finally woken up and is reacting to years of poking and provocations by the West. The NATO bullies are finally getting what they asked for – a bloody nose.
Oops, not these cowards. They have been goading and pushing the poor Ukrainians to challenge the bear. And now that the bear has Zelensky and his cronies in its claws, the western cowards are nowhere to be seen.
Ukraine’s president Volodymyr Zelensky raged at western cowards after his country was ‘left alone’ to face Russian troops amid fears that Kiev will fall this weekend.
In a video address to his nation after midnight, the president called his fallen compatriots ‘heroes’ after 137 were killed on the first day of fighting, and insisted he will stay until the bitter end.
‘We have been left alone to defend our state. Who is ready to fight alongside us? I don’t see anyone. Who is ready to give Ukraine a guarantee of NATO membership? Everyone is afraid.’
Yes, that’s what bullies do. They poke and provoke but then turn tail when the target punches back. And then they apply “sanctions.” As if the sanctions will bring back to life the people who died today.
But to these monsters human lives are cheap. They have proven that in Panama. They have proven that in Bosnia. They have proven that in Somalia. They have proven that in Serbia (Kosovo). They have proven that in Iraq. They have proven that in Afghanistan….
Oh yes, by they way, who applies “sanctions” against the U.S. when our government invaded and waged war against all these countries.

Yet nearly all western media reports blame Russia for the Ukraine conflict. In their tried and true demonization style, which they used on Saddam Hussein, Slobodan Milosevic and Osama bin Laden, among others, the western politicians and their media stooges are personifying the conflict calling it “Putin’s war.” Alas, it took another former U.S. war hawk – Henry Kissinger – to correct them:
“Demonization of Putin is not a policy. It is an alibi for the absence of one”, the old Henry opined in 2014.
And now, let me explain what is happening now in Ukraine and why through the excerpts from some of my earlier articles during the last 30 years.

BROKEN “IRON CLAD” US PROMISE: “NOT ONE INCH EASTWARD” (from Berlin Wall)
UPDATE AUG 13, 2017 – Ever since the fall of the Soviet Union in 1991, the Truth in Media editorials have been pointing out that Russia continues to be the “Bogey #1” of the New World Order, its “partnership for peace” (during Yeltsin era) and other “friendly” overtures (during Putin’s tenure) notwithstanding.
Rather than attack the world’s biggest country head on, the New World Order has been nibbling at its edges (wars in Chechnya, Georgia, Ukraine, NATO conquests of Bulgaria, Romania, Poland and the 3 Baltic countries), and trying to cripple Russia through plunder (during Yeltsin era) and sanctions (during Putin’s tenure).
Why Moscow believed at all during the last 16 years that you can negotiate with a beast which is bent on devouring you is beyond me. As Winston Churchill once reportedly screamed at one of his advisors, “you don’t negotiate with a tiger when your head is in its jaws” (referring to Hitler’s Germany, of course).

Nor do you negotiate with proven liars and a crooks. Which is what the successive US governments have shown themselves to be. Here’s just one case in point…
In early February 1990, U.S. leaders made the Soviets an offer. According to transcripts of meetings in Moscow on Feb. 9, 1990, then-Secretary of State James Baker promised that, in exchange for cooperation on East Germany, the U.S. could make “iron-clad guarantees” that NATO would not expand “one inch eastward” (from the Berlin Wall).
Less than a week later, Soviet President Mikhail Gorbachev agreed to begin reunification talks. No formal deal was struck, but from all the evidence, the quid pro quo was clear: Gorbachev acceded to Germany’s western alignment and the U.S. would limit NATO’s expansion.
“Iron clad?” “Not one inch eastward?”
A quarter century later, NATO has expanded 2,000 km (1,243 miles) eastward to the Russian border.

WHAT IF THE TABLES WERE REVERSED? WHAT IF UKRAINE WAS CANADA AND THE BULLY RUSSIA, NOT THE U.S./NATO?
But suppose the tables were reversed?
Suppose Russia staged a coup in Canada, overturned a democratically elected government, and installed its own proxies to run the country. And suppose this government attacked the territory where the American minority have lived for centuries. And then threatened to install Russian nuclear weapons on the Canadian soil.
What do you think Washington should do? Do you think we would stand by and do nothing?
Of course, not. We would do what any country would do when their security is threatened by a foreign power: RESIST.
Well, that’s basically what Russia is doing. Protecting its flank from the decades-long assault from the west. It’s about time.
We wondered back in 2014, why Moscow had not done it sooner. For it was obvious for all to see that what happened in Ukraine in Feb 2014, when Obama was president, was a part of a long-term NATO strategy which this writer identified 20 years earlier under the title, “Taming the Russian BearNew ‘Drang Nach Osten’” (an April 1995 Truth in Media article).
This article points out the “why” of the 1990s. The then Russian president Boris Yeltsin was ‘bought’. He was an American stooge.
As for Vladimir Putin, who succeeded Yeltsin in 2000, it took him a while to find his bearings. Up until recently, he was evidently still hoping that one can negotiate with the Washington New World Order would-be masters. But as Winston Churchill warned about the appeasers, comparing Hitler with a crocodile, he said, “the appeasers are hoping the crocodile would eat them last.”
Guess Putin did not want to allow on his watch that Russia become NATO’s last meal. And the 69-year old Russian president drew his line in the mud if not the sand. “Enough is enough,” he must have figured after all American government provocations and deceptions since the fall of the Soviet Union 30 years ago.

In every shooting war, a parallel war of words takes place. The same is true of the war in Ukraine.
Oops, it is not a “war”, according to the Russian media censors. It is a “special operation.”
It is a “genocide,” according to the western media. The Russians are targeting the civilians and hospitals, scream the headlines, under which the scenes of mothers and children refugees are designed to tug at the hearts of western readers.
But as everyone knows, especially the hardened war reporters like yours truly, there is always the other side of the coin.
Where were the western media cameras when the Ukrainians shelled and massacred civilians in the disputed Donbass region for the last eight years?

Nelly Ivanovna, a Gorlovka resident: “There are politicians in Ukraine who think that we shouldn’t be here, that we don’t deserve to live here on our land. They don’t see us as human. Well, we didn’t want to remain part of their country either. It’s not about the language – it’s a beautiful language, I learned it at school. What does language have to do with the fact that it’s spoken by fools? If Russia hadn’t interfered, they would have tried and shelled us again. We wouldn’t make it without Russia. And the US is just getting rich off the war.”
“We have been living under artillery fire ever since 2014. We keep talking to the media about it, but nothing changes. This isn’t normal. We’ve been living in a constant state of fear and anxiety. When they fire at us during the day, at least we know where to run to, but at night it’s a lot easier to give in to panic. You have to go through it yourself to understand – I could talk about these things for hours, but no words can describe what it’s really like out there.”
“Nelly brings up ‘the Madonna of Gorlovka’ – the name Kristina Zhuk came to be known by on social media after she was killed by a Ukrainian shell in July 2014, along with her 10-month-old daughter. When it happened, Kristina was walking in the park with her daughter. A journalist who happened to be there witnessed the woman’s last agonizing moments, providing one of the first pieces of photographic evidence that Ukraine was using weapons indiscriminately against the people of Donbass.”
“Nelly cannot remember the name of the murdered woman, but she says that her story is a depiction of life in Gorlovka during the Donbass conflict. She recalls that both in Gorlovka and elsewhere in the DPR (Donbass), there are monuments to children killed in the war. But the memory of these children only lives in the hearts of the local residents who have seen death with their own eyes.”

UKRAINE: CRIMINALS WILL BE CRIMINALS
ZELENSKY ARMS AND UNLEASHES HARDENED CRIMINALS AGAINST OWN PEOPLE
On Feb 28, Ukrainian president Zelensky announced that he would release from prison some hardened criminals with military or weapons-handling experience, ostensibly to fight the Russians (see a story below). Alas, when it comes to war plans, like “the best laid plans of mice and men,” the only thing one can be sure of is that they will go awry.
The story you are about to read is admittedly hearsay. So you should take it with a grain of salt. But it comes from a source that this writer knows personally and whom he deems reliable.
A Russian music professor talked to his colleague in Vienna, Austria. The colleague is a Ukrainian, originally from the city of Kharkov which is currently besieged by byb Russian forces. He said that the city residents who are hiding in their homes are more afraid of the criminals whom Zelenski had armed than of the Russians.
Because criminals will be criminals. They are using the weapons to rob the people, claims this Viennese Ukrainian, citing his Kharkov friends and relatives.

UKRAINE: NATO’S LATEST “DRANG NACH OSTEN” TARGET
Divide and Conquer: Age-old Imperial Strategy at Work Again in Ukraine
How Will Russia Respond to US Threats? “A Country Too Far” for NATO? Will “Perfidious Washington” Choke on Ukraine?
If you followed the current western media headlines, you might have gotten the impression that what is happening in Ukraine is some sort of a spontaneous rebellion against a corrupt government. Truth is just the opposite. The ousted president (Viktor Yanukovich) was legally elected. And the riots and killings in Kiev were part of a carefully orchestrated long-term Washington geopolitical strategy. Which was launched at the end of the Cold War. Ukraine is just the latest Eastern European nation about to fall into NATO’s lap like domino.
No surprise there. This writer predicted NATO’s further eastward expansion two decades ago. At the time, the former Yugoslavia was the NATO first target and focus of western aggression. As in Ukraine, the aggression was masked by local squabbles which escalated into a civil war. Which gave NATO a pretense to act as “peacemaker” and occupy the country.
Yet it was evident to this writer well before that happened that this westernmost of the Eastern European countries (Yugoslavia) would be only the first of many minions to come under the NATO dominion (see above and below maps and from “NATO Partnership for Peace: New “Drang Nach Osten“, Truth in Media, Apr 1995]. Since the shooting war in Bosnia ended, NATO has added a slew of other countries to its roster (see the blue countries below on the updated 1995 map).
You can see from these maps how the western military alliances has tightened its grip on the iron noose around Russia’s European neck over the last two decades. After the western-sponsored mobsters rampaged and killed innocent people in the Ukrainian capital last week, the NATO and the Ukrainian military brass were engaged in another “partnership for peace” farce (NATO-Ukraine Commission stresses continued engagement – left photo, Feb 27, 2014).
That is why the riots in Ukraine, a country roughly the size of Texas, were carefully orchestrated to coincide with the Sochi Olympics. The Perfidious Washington was hoping to catch the Russian Bear napping and distracted by the Olympics it was hosting. The move would have made the Perfidious Albion proud (British Empire).

THERE’S CHINA AND THERE’S THE REST OF THE WORLD
The economies of Spain, Canada, Britain, France, Russia, Mexico and Italy should be in the toilet by now, according to the 1994 World Bank “Weltanschauung”. On the other hand, China, South Korea, Taiwan, Thailand, Indonesia and India should have grown by 100% to 250% in the last three decades.
No argument with the latter postulate. But we took issue with the former and offered our own 25-year forecast in a short editorial “End of Western Dominance?”
A major flaw in World Bank’s logic is the assumption that the leading economies of the 21st century will be industrial. They will not. The industrialists of the 21st century will be the farmers of the 20th century! (i.e., low on the food chain).
The economies of the 21st century will be an information-driven mixture of arts and sciences. And smaller economies will outperform the largest ones.
As can be seen from these New Year’s light and laser shows, the computer technology and the internet have not only “empowered the individuals and small companies to compete with giant enterprises on a level playing field,” as we predicted earlier, they have also enabled small countries to compete globally on a fairer basis.
