I published this editorial about the “liberals'” intolerance and abuse of law:

Back in 1997, while the Clintons were still in the White House, I said in my Washington Times column “Dancing ‘Round the Golden Calf” that the so-called “liberals” have usurped the term – which connotes open-mindedness in the English language – and turned it into a dictatorship of minorities.

Former presidents Clinton and Obama trying to subvert justice

In the heat of the election campaign 2016, Bill Clinton met with AG Loretta Lynch and the Phoenix airport to twist her arm re. Hillary’s Emailgate. Unsurprisingly, the Obama Justice Dept’s pick let and the FBI which reports to her let Hillary of the hook.
See “Judicial Watch Sues DOJ for Records on Airport Meeting Between Bill Clinton and AG Loretta Lynch” – Mar 15, 201 7 – CBS NEWS –
Now, the “liberals” are engaged in unprecedented judicial obstructionism, trying to impede the implementation of President Trump’s immigration order. For a second time in just over a month, a Federal Judge, Obama’s appointee in Hawaii, has stepped into the political arena where no honest judge belongs, trying to block the order.
Just as with Bill Clinton’s extrajudicial intervention, this time Obama Made a Surprise Visit to Hawaii 48 Hours Before Judge Blocked Trump Travel Ban –
A coincidence? You be the judge. Maybe Judicial Watch can now sue Obama for his Hawaii travel itinerary earlier this week?
Of course, the former president is a proven liar just like Hillary is. Still, it would be more difficult for him to do so in a court of law under oath than at press conferences or political rallies. After all the judge he appointed can also be deposed as well as the staff who handle such meetings. So it would take a lot of lying under oath to cover this up.

Back in 1997, while the Clintons were still in the White House, I said in my Washington Times column “Dancing ‘Round the Golden Calf” that the so-called “liberals” have usurped the term – which connotes open-mindedness in the English language – and turned it into a dictatorship of minorities.
Here are the opening paragraphs from that piece:
“America is rapidly becoming a nation of mutts. Our country’s traditional character is being systematically destroyed by nihilistic “liberals,” the New World Order’s centurions whose only God is the Almighty Dollar.
The same kinds of people invented the “dictatorship of the proletariat,” and applied it to the unsuspecting Russians. Now, they are trying to ram a “dictatorship of the minorities” down the naive Americans’ throats.
In its present form, America’s social demise is a more benign mutation of the “Bolshevik” revolution, perhaps the kind of a gradual change which the “Menshevik” communists would have preferred.
Either way, the desecration of America the Beautiful is not a spontaneous event. Nor is a deliberate dumbing down of our nation. It is a multi-pronged process carried out by the Wall Street elite and their vassals in government, education, media and the entertainment industry.”
(An excerpt from “Dancing ‘Round the Golden Calf” –
ALTZAR: The only thing I can add to this piece almost 20 years after this article was penned is that so-called “liberals” have proven to be the most intolerant segment of our society. The violent disruptions of Trump’s campaign rallies is merely the latest example of their brand of “liberalism.”

Someone had posted on Facebook a real billboard from Hillary and Bill Clinton’s home state of Arkansas. Here it is… .

Which inspired me to agree with its general sentiment.

“Except that it’s not complete,” I added in my comment about it.

So here’s now my expanded version of the billboard which hopefully balances things out bit. Politically. 🙂

Bottom line? Vote for anybody but a Clinton or a Bush. Come to think of it, anybody but a Democrat or a Republican.

And “that ain’t no bull”… 🙂

Or as a mathematician might put it… it is a case of regression.

REGRESSION in math-politics

PS: In case you’re wondering who that turbaned man is in the right muffler billboard, here’s a Jan 2002 Truth in Media story and the cartoon – “Enronizing Pretzelitis.”

On Jan 17, 1893, a group of US businessmen, backed by the bayonets of the U.S. Marines from “USS Boston,” staged a coup d’etat in Honolulu, overthrew by force the Hawaiian Queen, and stole the Islands from the native Hawaiians

Today, native Hawaiians account for only 10% of Hawaii’s population

Most Americans have heard of the “Day which will live in infamy.” It is a much quoted FDR (President Roosevelt) phrase that refers to the Japanese attack on Pearl Harbor on Dec 7, 1941. But few realize there was a much darker Day of Infamy, half a century before.

Queen-LiliuokalaniJanuary 17, 1893 is the day modern Washington would rather forget. It was the day United States overthrew the Hawaiian Queen backed by bayonets of the U.S. Marines from USS Boston, and stole this Pacific paradise from the native population.

Before then, this beautiful archipelago, originally named Sandwich Islands by Captain Cook, was actually known as the Kingdom of Hawaii (thus the British Union Jack in our state flag even today). Hawaii was recognized as an independent country by Britain, France, Germany… and yes, the United States, too.

Ever since Jan 17, 1893, however, Hawaii has been treated like a United States colony. Over the last 122 years, the native population has been decimated, mostly by disease and malnutrition. The US Census Bureau of 2011 reported that native Hawaiians and other Pacific Islanders accounted for only 10.1% of the total population.

Paradise lost. Paradise stolen.

As you can see, the real story of Hawaii is a tragedy. You will not find that in the tourist brochures or in postcards depicting happy vacationers. Yet the world needs to know how this proud nation lost its sovereignty.

Hawaiian flagsWhich is why today, Jan 17, 2015, I invite all my fellow IMG_2125Americans to join me in a minute of silence, with our heads bowed in honor of the native Hawaiians – dead and alive.

Here at the Rainbow Shower, we are flying the Hawaiian flag upside-down today. Whenever we are in residence, we also fly the sovereign Kingdom of Hawaii flag in from of the Rainbow Shower (right and below).

This afternoon, I also plan to do a remembrance fire ceremony at the Anahata-Huaca-Ahu, the sacred place (heiau) and the shaman’s altar at the Rainbow Shower. Maybe you can also join me in ether with your prayers.

Royal Iolani Palace (an excerpt from my May 25, 2011 travelogue)

In the afternoon, I suggested we visit the Royal Iolani Palace where once the Hawaiian kings and queens resided.  Ever since we moved to Hawaii, I have felt very well connected and welcome by the land, the ocean and the spirits.  But even though I have read a fair bit about its history, I felt I was lacking a personal connection to the island’s past.  So off the palace we went… Oahu5_25-9

The Iolani palace was built in 1882 by Hawaii’s last king, David Kalakaua.  Its name means a royal or heavenly hawk.  Since King Kalakaua did not leave an heir, he was succeeded by his sister, Queen Liliuokalani.

The queen was deposed in 1893 in a coup d’etat led by American businessmen and backed by the bayonets of the U.S. Marines from USS Boston.  Thus ended the sovereignty of the Kingdom of Hawaii which was at the time recognized as an independent country by Britain, France, Germany… and yes, the United States, too.  The last Hawaiian Queen spent eight localnews29_bmonths as a prisoner in a single room in her own palace (the Hawaiian Royal standard, the “old flag,” is shown in the left frame).

One hundred years later, the U.S. Congress passed Public Law 103-150, otherwise known as the Apology Resolution, signed by President Bill Clinton on Nov 23, 1993. The resolution apologized for the U.S. Government’s role in supporting the 1893 overthrow of the Kingdom of Hawaii.

But did we return the ill-gotten property?  No.  Did we reinstate the Hawaiian sovereignty?  No. kahili-flag-quilt

Yet the Hawaiians may consider themselves relatively fortunate.  The Native Americans did not even get an apology for the “ethnic cleansing” and slaughter Washington perpetrated against them in the 19th century.  Instead, they were herded like cattle and forced into reservations.

Yet, the native Hawaiians were hardly fortunate.  In the hundred years or so since Captain Cook landed in Hawaii as the first white man to make contact with the natives,  the Hawaiian population has been decimated by white man diseases against which they had no immunity.  The pogrom was more effective than any war white man may have waged against the natives.  By the time Hawaii lost its sovereignty, its population was reduced to only about a fifth of that in late 18th century.  And today, the native Hawaiians and other Polynesian races account for only 10% of state’s population.

By the way, Captain Cook landed in Hawaii, which he called Sandwich Islands, in 1779.  He was killed on the Big Island in a fight with the natives over a stolen boat.  Who would have thought that a century later, white man would steal the whole archipelago along with the natives’ health.  The beautiful but empty Iolani Palace is a sobering reminder of frailties of cultures, freedom and royalty.  And what can happen when someone is enamored of technology.

You see, the Hawaiian royals had close ties with the British monarchy, and were far more “progressive” than many other modern societies of the 19th century.  The Iolani Palace had electricity and running water, for example, before the White House or the Buckingham Palace had installed the same.  Sadly, the modern American invention merely illuminated the royals’ demise.

By 1887, turmoil erupted when the Bayonet Constitution was imposed on Hawaii by a small group of American, European and Hawaiian nationals called the “Honolulu Rifles” which had more than 1,500 armed men.  They had a meeting and planned to take away the political rights from the native population.  They threatened King David Kalakaua with death if he did not accept their demands.  One of the demands was for a new Cabinet Council, so on July 7, 1887 the new “Bayonet Constitution” was forced upon the King by the newly imposed members of his cabinet.

The new constitution forced voters including foreign nationals (who were considered aliens and first time voters) to swear an oath to support the constitution before they could vote in any election. The “Honolulu Rifles” used the vote to disenfranchise the majority vote of the native Hawaiian population so that “White” foreign nationals can gain control of the Legislature and it also provided a loophole that benefited the self-imposed Cabinet Council to control the Monarchy.

Hawaii has also experienced rampant militarization since President William McKinley; a veteran of the American Civil War, expanded the US military presence in Hawaii.

Military expansion continued under President Theodore Roosevelt.

After the attack on Pearl Harbor on December 7th, 1941 the US military expanded its power and declared Martial Law until October 24th, 1944.  Since then Hawaii has been turned into a major strategic location for the US military.  On January 1st, 1947, the U.S. Pacific Command (USPACOM) was established with its headquarters in Aiea, a small Hawaiian town on the island of Oahu.

I, Liliuokalani, by the grace of God and under the constitution of the Hawaiian Kingdom, Queen, do hereby solemnly protest against any and all acts done against myself and the constitutional Government of the Hawaiian Kingdom by certain persons claiming to have established a Provisional Government of and for this Kingdom. That I yield to the superior force of the United States of America, whose minister plenipotentiary, His Excellency John L. Stevens, has caused United States troops to be landed at Honolulu and declared that he would support the said Provisional Government. Now, to avoid any collision of armed forces, and perhaps the loss of life, I do, under this protest and impelled by said forces, yield my authority until such time as the Government of the United States shall, upon the facts being presented to it, undo (?) the action of its representative and reinstate me in the authority which I claim as the constitutional sovereign of the Hawaiian Islands.

Done at Honolulu, this 17th day of January, A. D. 1893.

On November 16, 1893, President Cleveland proposed to return Queen Lili’uokalani to the throne if she granted amnesty to those responsible for the Coup.   She refused the offer.

US elections history

Disgust or empathy, take your pick, were the big winners in Nov 4, 2014 US elections as Americans voted with their feet – by staying away from polls.

TSENG-2533-640x426 none-of-the-above2

Some eligible voters simply did not want to play a part in a thoroughly corrupt political systems (the Disgust group). Others just didn’t care (the Apathy group).  Either way, “None of the Above” was by fart the most popular voter The 36.6% average turnout across the country was lower than even in the 1920s, the previous low in the last century (the 1824 turnout of 26% is still the all-time low – see below).

The newest state Hawaii, for example, one of our two home states, set a new all-time record for a low turnout (34.6%).  Arizona, our first home state, was even lower – 34.4%. But the more mature states, like Indiana and Texas, led the nation with 28% and 28.5% voter turnouts.

At the other end of the scale, the voters in Maine and Wisconsin showed the most faith in the current system. The turnout in those two states was 59.3% and 56.9% respectively.

While the “lamestream” (establishment) media headlines today are treating the election as some sort of a sporting event in which the red-shirted Republicans thrashed the blue-shirted Democrats, it is now clear that a vast majority of Americans realize that what we have in this country is a DEMO-FARCE, just as this writer put it in a Nov 1996 column published by the WASHINGTON TIMES.

Voting for either a Republican or a Democrat is meaningless. For, they both work for the same bosses – the (Wall Street) Plutocrats of the New World Order

Here’s an excerpt…

Fielding two horses from the same stable evidently suited the U.S. Establishment just fine. Election 96 was a “demo farce!” The U.S. democracy is turning into a New World Order plutocracy. [WASHINGTON TIMES, Nov 17, 1996]

UPDATE – Nov 6, 2014

“Non of the Above” Win Big

None of the above

Establishment Media Largely Mum on Disastrously Low Turnout

One day after, the national “lamestream” (mainstream) establishment media are largely mum on the biggest story of the 2014 US elections – a disastrously low turnout.

Our scan of the news headlines this morning turned up only one story, at NPR, about that (see Midterm Elections May Have Had Record Low Turnout : NPR). And event that piece sounded more apologetic than alarming, pointing out that midterm elections traditionally have lower turnouts.

True. But even so, a record low turnout (36.6% average) is still a record low turnout.

So back to Disgust and Apathy, the big winners on Nov 4.

Nearly two-thirds of Americans refused to participate in our political system. They turned down the role of Patsy in the New World Order farce into which our democratic process has morphed. [Truth in Media]

As a result, NO CANDIDATE received a true voter mandate. Not even the “unopposed” who may have won 100% of votes. Because they were cast by a mere third or so of eligible voters.  The rest, voted with their feet – by staying away from polls.

Time to weep or rejoice? Take you pick.

Meanwhile, here are some local reports about the low turnout in various states which provide additional spot-evidence.

Solar Customers Get Burned In Hawaii

Hawaii electric utilities are winning a war against solar energy thanks to the collusion with state public officials.  Hawaii Electric Company (HECO) and the Public Utilities Commission (PUC) are acting as if they own the solar energy. In our case, they are literally and brazenly stealing our surplus electricity which we are forced Generated PDF Documentto feed into their grid by the PUC rules.

Check out this chart of our solar system performance in the last 12 months. In 10 of those 12 months we have been producing more electrical energy than we needed. Which MECO, Maui Electric Company, simply siphoned off and sold to its other customers at retail rates and without any compensation to us.

Worse, MECO has the gall to charge us $18 per month for their meter. Which we were forced to use by the warped Hawaiian PUC rule and laws which favor corporations over taxpayers. And we also have to suffer regular MECO power outages despite the fact that we could be 100% self-sufficient but for the government rules.

This writer has written several articles about it in the last two years, and has also corresponded with the Hawaii Governor’s office and the MECO CEO and PUC officials asking them to change the rules (see Hawaii PUC Mistreats Solar Producers (“Post Nubilla, Phoebus, Dec 2012) and Hawaii Governor Responds Six Months Later).

Government/Corporate Collusion Leads to Gouging of Customers/Taxpayers

Indeed, they did change the rules in September 2013. For the WORSE! Now the Hawaiian utilities are playing the game of delaying their approval of new installations, alleging that the solar energy is overburdening their grid (see Solar Customers Get Burned In Hawaii, Oct 2013).

Which is complete nonsense, of course, when you think about it. Let’s just apply common sense.

As a result of the recent solar energy boom, the electric utilities should have experienced a BIG DROP in customer demand for their “dirty” (fossil fuel-based) electricity. The electricity solar customers are generating does not necessarily represent new and additional demand. It is simply replacing the dirty electricity with clean, renewable energy.Screen Shot 2014-06-24 at 1.50.01 PM

In fact, the solar energy is helping actually REDUCE the demand for dirty electricity the Hawaiian utilities are generating – at a cost which is already three times the national average (see Greed Casts Doubt over Renewable Energy, May 2012).

So you would think that there would be cheers all around. Well, think again. Reducing the demand for dirty electricity would mean the utility would have to get more efficient and REDUCE its FIXED costs in order to maintain profit margins. Which is probably why the Hawaiian utility announced this year that it wants to operate its own solar farm.

“The power company sometimes seems like the greatest obstacle to innovation” (Huffington Post)

Yet the state government and the PUC have swallowed this HECO/MECO hogwash hook, line and sinker. They have allowed the Hawaiian utility’s war on clean energy to continue and escalate. Which is a giant step BACK.

What is happening in this sunny state is a perfect example of collusion and confluence of corporate and government interests at the expense of the taxpayers who are trying to help Mother Earth recover from the abuses the industrial eras has heaped on her in the last two centuries.

Instead, these public officials are helping inefficient polluters gouge their customers while fighting solar energy competitors. And this travesty is working…

Hawaii Solar Sales Decline for the First Time

While solar sales are going through the roof in most mainland states (see California More Than Doubles Solar Energy in 2013), here in Hawaii solar installations declined for the first time last year. Residential sales are down nine percent compared to 2012, while commercial sales have plummeted by 50 percent, according to statistics from Hawaii’s Department of Business, Economic Development and Tourism.

Here’s what Huffington Post wrote about it:

“Now solar companies find themselves competing in a shrinking market as they wrestle with the limitations of a public utility that owns the power grids on Oahu, the Big Island and Maui County. The power company sometimes seems like the greatest obstacle to innovation, because the electric company can only accommodate so much intermittent solar power on their grids before engineers fear that too much of the energy will cause power disruptions and put utility workers’ safety at risk.”

So the “Empire Strikes Back.”  The dark forces, the Darth Vader’s, of the government/corporate world are winning. Where are you Luke Skywalker when we need you?

What’s To Be Done?

So what’s the solution beyond the extra-terrestrial intervention?Screen Shot 2014-06-24 at 10.33.07 AM

Get the Feds involved? (God forbid!)

Get off the planet? (Maybe a little too extreme. For now).

Get off the grid? (Now you’re talking…)

The way this writer sees it, the ultimate solution to this government/corporate collusion and coercion of solar customers is for us  to get a battery that’s sufficiently powerful and economical enough to store the surplus electricity we produce. So we could reuse it when we needed it later on.

Of course, this may lead to the Governor and MECO CEO sending the National Guard to arrest us for trying to bypass their monopoly. But if enough of us solar producers did that at the same time, perhaps the Governor won’t have enough troops of cojones to use against us?

Meanwhile, let us keeping weaving a network of solar energy producers so we can all band together when such a time comes. We can all be Luke Skywalkers on our own rooftops. The war of governmental and corporate Darth Vaders against Mother Earth is far from over.

Of course, if all else fails, we can always go back to windmills… 🙂

Eliz windmill

Nah… just kidding. Too windy in there. 🙂
