The moon last night was as beautiful as it was surprising. My wife and I had no idea this was going to be a full moon, let alone a “supermoon” (the largest moon of this year – when its nearest to Earth) when we went out for our usual sunset walk.
About half way through, a trickle of yellow light appeared from behind the McDowell Mountains. It grew quickly into a magnificent yellow moon. The moon had an orange corona around it.
“How appropriate for the times we live in,” I thought.
Take a look at the progression of the moon from its rise till its full nightly splendor, as seen from our back yard.
