“Doctors Without Borders” Staff Shot Like Rabbits While Fleeing Kunduz Hospital, Report Finds

Being a doctor in a war zone cannot be punishable by airstrikes,” Doctors Without Borders General Director Christopher Stokes said.

“America is at war with the world. Friend or foe – makes little difference. With friends, Washington is at war covertly; with foes overtly.

War on terror? A euphemism for license to kill. Worldwide. A cover for state crimes on a scale this planet has not witnessed since Hitler’s Germany or Stalin’s Soviet Union.”

The preceding were the opening lines of Part 1 of our report “America is at War with the World” (Sep 19). At the time, the gruesome fate of 30 Doctors Without Borders’ medical staff and their patients was not known. Death came calling for them on Oct 3 when U.S. military aircraft REPEATEDLY bombed and strafed the MSF hospital in the Afghan city of Kunduz.

Today, Nov 5, Doctors Without Borders released a report which showed that not only did the U.S. military know they were attacking a medical facility protected by international law, but the U.S. aircraft were shooting the doctors and nurses on the ground like rabbits as they were fleeing the burning hospital.

“[Doctors Without Borders] doctors and other medical staff were shot while running to reach safety in a different part of the compound,” the MSF report said.

Although the review isn’t finished, Doctors Without Borders President Dr. Joanne Liu said the organization released the report to “counter speculation and to be transparent.”

Responding to Thursday’s report, the U.S. Department of Defense again apologized for the attack and expressed condolences for the victims and their families.

Well, no longer. “J’ACCUSE…!” – to borrow the famous 1898 headline by the French author Emile Zola of his open letter to the French president.

I join the Doctors Without Borders’ charges and accuse the government of this land and the U.S. military of war crimes against humanity and of egregious violations of international laws which protect medical facilities in war zones. Let us bring all those criminals to justice.

SLAP ON THE WRIST “PUNISHMENT” FOR 16 INDIVIDUALS PENTAGON SAYS ARE RESPONSIBLE FOR BOMBING OF KUNDUZ “DOCTORS WITHOUT BORDERS” HOSPITAL

On October 3, 2015, American warplanes attacked a civilian hospital in Afghanistan in which 42 people died horrible fiery deaths. They included patients, doctors, nurses and civilians who worked for “Doctors without Borders” (MSF) humanitarian mission. Many more were injured.

The whole world watched these images in horror. Here’s an excerpt from a Truth in Media editorial:

It took several weeks for the Pentagon to accept responsibility for this war crime and to apologize for it. Even our sorry president said something about how sorry he was.

Well, today, April 29, 2016, the Pentagon released the findings of its own investigation. And the bottom line is basically a slap on the wrist-“punishment” for the 16 individuals the Pentagon said were responsible for this war crime. No criminal charges were laid. Nobody is going to prison in this country’s or any International Court of Justice.”

In other words, the Pentagon is admitting responsibility but is also trying to sweep it under the rug. Because the attack was supposedly “unintentional.” So say those who masterminded and controlled the action without any independent investigation or due process. And we are supposed to believe this prosecution, judge and jury farce?

And even if the attack were “unintentional,” it is still a crime. And somebody or multiple somebodies in the U.S. military must pay for it. And if not the military, than the commander(s)-in-chief – who ordered the U.S. military to invade a foreign country.

We don’t let civilians walk free, do we, when they commit “unintentional” crimes, let alone mass murder of this order of magnitude? In order for justice to be served, somebody high up in the American government must be held accountable for this this cascade of errors that led to this tragedy:
