USURY AND TREATIES BASED ON HUMILIATION DON’T WORK

USURY AND TREATIES BASED ON HUMILIATION OF ONE SIDE DON’T WORK

USURY – All usury was banned by Christian doctrine, as it was by Muslim doctrine. In the late Christ_drives_the_Usurers_out_of_the_TempleMiddle Ages the problem of financing the royal exchequer and setting up capitalist institutions in the face of the Christian ban on usury was resolved by allowing Jews to act as bankers. They therefore came to be viewed as pariahs, just as cow hide tanners are pariahs in Hindu society. It was in this way that the Jewish community was able to accrue vast wealth and thereby to bring down on its head the loathing of the Christians.

ENSLAVEMENT OF MAN – MICRO USURY 101

Now, Usury has morphed to a new level with the global bankers taking over the role of enslavers of both man and country. They operate by coercion rather than persuasion (see IMF to Alexis Tsipras: ‘Do you feel lucky, punk?’).

The sign this woman is holding exemplifies Usury 101 – felt by borrowers at a micro level.

ENSLAVEMENT OF COUNTRY – MACRO USURY 202

IMF Greece

What the EU and the IMF are demanding of Greece, on the other hand, is Usury 202, an attempt to enslave and subjugate a whole country.

Check out this article for an example of extreme arrogance by the likes of IMF who think they hold all the aces and are not shy about rubbing into Greek faces (“IMF to Alexis Tsipras: ‘Do you feel lucky, punk?’ – http://www.theguardian.com/business/2015/jun/11/imf-holding-gun-alexis-tsipras-head-greece-credit-talks).

And now, with that as a preamble, here’s a Truth in Media editor’s comment about an article in Financial Times – “Alexis Tsipras is approaching his Brest-Litovsk moment.”

Eu gun to head Godfather

A Truth in Media editor’s comment about an ARTICLE IN FINANCIAL TIMES on the GREECE-EU/IMF DISPUTE AND NEGOTIATIONS:

This is such an idiotic article. Mr Barber summons alleged lessons history to make a parallel with the current dispute between the global bankers and their EU puppets and Greece. And yet he seems unable or unwilling to learn from history himself.

What happened after Russia was humiliated by such a “peace” treated as Brest-Litovsk, Mr Barber? The Soviet Union became the world’s most powerful communist empire which instilled fear around the world and caused trouble for decades.

Ditto after Germany was humiliated by the Versailles Treaty in 1918. It built itself up into the Third Reich which rained terror around Europe causing tens of millions of dead.

Is that what you expect Greece to learn from your parallels, Mr Barber?

What if Greece decided it has had enough of the pompous grandstanding by the EU and its global banker masters? What if Greece decided to chuck the euro and throw its lot with Russia (and China, and India, and Brazil and South Africa – the BRICS countries). (This would split the EU and NATO like a wedge – see the maps).

Greece EU NATO wedge

How would that be for learning a real lesson from history?

They say “those who do not learn from history are DOOMED to repeat it.” At their peril, of course.

If there is a lesson in history here, it is that treaties based on humiliation of one side do not work. Just like one-sided business deals fall apart, too.

And you can take that to the bank, Mr Barber.

WHAT”S GOOD FOR THE GOOSE SHOULD BE GOOD FOR THE GANDER

Food for thought

What's good for the gooseBy the way, if it is okay for the bankers to force a country on its knees and let it go bankrupt (Greece, though Spain and Portugal may not be far behind), how come it was not okay to let our big banks fail when they overextended themselves in 2008?

Similarly, if the western media are calling the current Greek government “communists” for trying wiggle out of the EU/IMF debt burden, how come they did not use the same epithet for Obama’s government when they bailed out our big banks?

Answer: Those who pay the piper call the tune.

OVER 26 YEARS AGO, I PUBLISHED THIS TRUISM WHICH SOLON NOTED OVER 2,500 YEARS AGO

Modern day Greeks should heed Solon’s message.

“Is Antitrust Dead?” – was the title of that March 1989 article.

Today, over 26 years later, we might ask, “Is Justice Dead?”

SIZZLING HIKE LEADS TO… RUSSIAN-GREEK-SPANISH UNION IN MUSIC

Music uniting what the global bankers and their political minions are trying to put asunder

Just got back from a 2.5 sizzling bike-hike-bike in the McDowell Mtns above Eagle’s Nest, Scottsdale, Arizona. Sizzling, because the temps were in the triple digits.

Because of the heat, I cut my “usual” hike short. But not before I got a guidance from the Spirit realm to share something with you all. It was apropos my yesterday’s post regarding Usury and the EU/IMF “gun to the head” strategy of dealing with Greece (see http://wp.me/p3QU1S-XD).

I was to share with you this recording a made 15 months ago…

EUROPE MUST SAVE GREECE TO SAVE ITSELF

by Timothy Garton Ash, London Guardian

June 15, 2015

Here’s another voice of reason, this time coming from the UK…

“Even if you don’t care about the Greek people, be warned – the fault lines of Grexit would shake the entire continent”

Europe must save Greece. The consequences of keeping Greece within the eurozone will be bad, but those of its leaving would be worse. They would be not just economic, but human, geopolitical and historic. Europe would never be the same again.

I was in Greece two weeks ago, and grasped this at every turn, from standing on the ancient Pnyx, the birthplace of democracy, through talking to business leaders, journalists and academics, many of who were witheringly critical of the current Syriza government. But since then I have been back in northern Europe, in England, Belgium and now Poland, and in the north I find not just relative indifference (Greece is more often the subject of jokes than of deep concern) but also two dangerous illusions.

[…]

The place that was once the cradle of both Europe and democracy – the Greek fleet that defeated ancient Persia at the battle of Salamis sailed from the harbour of Piraeus – would now be just the tip of the Chinese dragon’s tail. And sooner or later, there would be a sting in that tail.

Thus, even if you have not a drop of sympathy in your heart for the Greeks, not even for Giannaros and his lost son, so long as you have a brain in your head and care at all about the future of Europe, you will understand why we must save Greece.

UPDATE JUNE 19, 2015

GREEK PRIME MINISTER IN RUSSIA AS EU CENTRAL BANK CAVES IN… IF ONLY FOR THE WEEKEND

Alexis Tsipras in Russia dismisses critics who say he should be in Brussels trying to solve debt standoff, saying Russia ‘has a big role to play’

(Truth in Media editor to Financial Times, June 13, 2015)

Greece EU NATO wedge

Two news stories which broke today minutes apart, one in St Petersburg, Russia, the other in Brussels, the European Union HQ, validated the assessment of the Greek financial crisis as summed up above in the Truth in Media editor’s letter to the Financial Times last Saturday (see USURY AND TREATIES BASED ON HUMILIATION DON’T WORK, June 13).

In St Petersburg, in a speech delivered in front of Putin in Russia, Tsipras said Moscow was one of Greece’s most important partners, and dismissed critics who wondered why he was in St Petersburg and not in Brussels trying to secure an urgent deal with European creditors.

“Why am I here, not in Brussels? I am here because I believe [Russia] has a big role to play … Russia is one of the most important partners for us,” the Greek prime minister said (see Greek prime minister reaches out to Vladimir Putin for help in financial crisis).

Before Tsipras left for Russia, the Greek energy minister, Panagiotis Lafazanis, told new agencies: “We secured decisive Russian support for Greece’s request for participation in the new development bank of BRICS countries.”

Meanwhile, the news from Brussels was that the European Central Bank caved in and extended emergency funding for Greece, at least for the weekend.  The decision was made at a hastily convened conference call on Friday.

The ECB has set another meeting for Monday, suggesting that the latest cash injection will only see Greece through the weekend.

TRUTH IN MEDIA Comment: Nothing like a little competition from BRICS bank to see the global bankers dismount of their high horses and pull their horns in. Looks like Tsipras is playing his cards right. At least for now.
