Ukrainian national guardsmen opened fire Sunday on a crowd outside a town hall in Krasnoarmeisk, in Eastern Ukraine, killing and wounding several people, according to eyewitness reports and videos (see bel0w). But that did not stop the pro-Russian Ukrainians from voting overwhelmingly in favor of secession, according to latest news reports. Meanwhile, the U.S. mainstream media have remained mostly mum about the shootings or the huge voter turnout.
Polls opened at 8 a.m. local time (1 a.m. EDT) in the Donetsk and Luhansk regions and were scheduled to close at 10 p.m. (3 p.m. EDT). An election official in Donetsk described the turnout to Fox News as “colossal.” (see Ukraine guardsmen open fire on crowd as rebels hold ‘self-rule’ vote).
Meanwhile, take a look at both the above scenes of the real grassroots democracy at work. Ever seen anything like it here in the U.S.? I have not. No wonder Washington’s Ukrainian proxies are shooting at the voters and trying to close the polls where they could. No wonder the local crowds spontaneously broke out into chants “fascists, fascists,” pinning an accurate label on such “democracy” preachers.
Meanwhile, there our “lamestream” media are scarcely mentioning these crimes committed against democracy. And where they are, such as in this News & Observer and Houston Chronicle reports, they are trying to spin the news to make it seem as if some random “armed men” had shot these people (see Armed men in eastern Ukraine open fire on crowd).
Huge Voter Turnout
Meanwhile, the pro-Russian leaders claimed that, undaunted by the violence or maybe because of it, the Ukrainian voters supported secession overwhelmingly. Just two hours after polling places closed, insurgents declared that almost 90% of voters backed sovereignty on their paper ballots cast in the Donetsk region. A Russian state news agency, reported 96.2 percent backing in the Luhansk region.
Roman Lyagin, election chief of the self-styled Donetsk People’s Republic, said about 75 percent of the Donetsk region’s 3 million eligible voters cast ballots, and the vast majority backed self-rule, Associated Press and USA TODAY reported this evening.
Eastern Ukraine has been plagued by turmoil as Kiev has tried to regain control of the largely Russian-speaking areas, and health authorities said 49 people have been killed in violence in the region of Donetsk since March 13.
Once Upon a Time America Was Also Like Ukraine: Enthusiastic; Now, Apathy Reigns
Take a look at both the above enes of the real grassroots democracy at work. Ever seen anything like it here in the U.S.? I have not. Maybe our Great-Great-Grandfathers could have remembered something like that. Here’s the turnout in the US presidential elections in late 19th century:
As you can see, we were once like Ukraine today – an unbridled democracy. Alas, after over a century of usurpation of political power in America by the New World Order cabal, all we can now savor is a nostalgic memory of how enthusiastic people once were in our country. Because the prevalent electoral emotion now is – apathy.

And now, here is a compilation of video clips shot by various eyewitnesses of today’s voter shooting and voting in Ukraine. So a fair warning, some of the images are rather graphic:

Two days earlier (May 9), there were more killings of civilians by Ukrainian troops in Mariupol, another city in Eastern Ukraine. Here’s another eyewitness video clip…

And now, here are also some other still shots from these videos…
