Neither side gives a rat’s ass about human life
Since 1945, over 160 million people have died in various wars around the globe
Speaking at a press conference yesterday at the National Press Club in Washington, the top US general Mark Miley (below left) displayed incredible callousness about the horrific losses Ukraine has been suffering during the first month of its much hyped “counteroffensive.” He said he wasn’t surprised about the slow-no progress of the offensive and enormous losses in manpower and materiel Ukraine has been suffering.
“What I had said was this is going to take six, eight, ten weeks. It’s going to be very difficult. It’s going to be very long and it’s going to be very, very bloody,” he said, noting that Kiev’s advance has been hampered by Russian minefields.
“No one should have any illusions about any of that,” he stressed, adding that Ukraine is fighting for survival against a strong adversary.

Last week, Nikolay Patrushev, the secretary of the Russian Security Council, estimated Ukrainian losses since the start of the counteroffensive at more than 13,000 troops. Later, Russian President Vladimir Putin said that for the same period, Kiev lost 259 tanks and 780 armored vehicles. He also said that the Ukrainian losses outnumbered the Russian ones ten to one.
The fact that the top US general “wasn’t surprised” about all this killing and carnage with practically zero result to show for – underlines the psychopathic callousness for human life of the western leaders who have pushed Ukraine into this war. Zelensky and his Ukrainian generals are no better.
In an interview with the Washington Post published on Friday, General Valery Zaluzhny (above right), the top Ukrainian military commander, stressed that Kiev’s ongoing push is not a spectacle for the entire world to enjoy.
“It’s not a show the whole world is watching and betting on or anything. Every day, every meter is given by blood,” he stressed.
Zaluzhny, who was earlier reported to have been seriously injured in a Russian missile strike, also said that it “pisses [him] off” when he hears that Ukraine’s offensive is bogged down.
The Ukrainian general also reiterated that without adequate supplies, Kiev would not be able to implement its plans. “But they are being carried out. Yes, maybe not as fast as the participants in the show, the observers, would like, but that is their problem,” he added.
So it’s the old Ukrainian song and dance: “Give us more weapons and we will keep supplying the cannon fodder for the offensive.”

The Russian generals are not much better. Nor is Putin. Neither side gives a rat’s ass about human life. Just as Hitler, Stalin, Churchill and Roosevelt did not in World War II. Or Johnson and Nixon in Vietnam. Or the various Israeli leaders in Palestine. Or Saddam Hussein and Ayatollah Khomeini in the Iraq-Iran war of the 1980s. Or the numerous wars throughout Africa and Central America.
Which is a sad indictment of mankind. We have actually regressed since the deadliest war in human history which was supposed to teach us to curtail our animalistic impulses. In WW II, an estimated 70-85 million people died. Since 1945, more than double that number have perished in various wars around the globe (see the chart below).

And considering what is currently happening in Ukraine and Sudan, for example, such the deadly trend is accelerating.
