TRUTH VS POWER: COMMENT ABOUT JULIAN ASSANGE STORY LEADS TO A NEW STORY

This comment about Julian Assange story in the London GUARDIAN led to this Truth in Media article on the subject of Truth vs. Power.

LONDON PAPER DOES A HATCHET JOB ON WIKILEAKS WHISTLEBLOWER

As founder and publisher of the Truth in Media (https://truthinmediablog.wordpress.com/) and a former war correspondent, I have been tracking the collusion between the establishment media and the government for over 25 years. And I can tell you…

…whenever you hear them scream, you know someone, somewhere has just told the truth.

What follows is Ridicule – the first step in Schopenhauer’s quote. The writer of this article, James Camp, did a good hatchet job for the establishment. He also ridiculed Assange.

Alas, neither he nor his masters are very original. It has all happened before. The phase through which the world is going now is not all different from the pre-Renaissance Middle Ages over 500 years ago. Copernicus, Da Vinci, Assange, Snowden… have much in common. They all published the Truth.

“Warrior Pope”: I was (more than) once also on the other side of Truth

PS: I should know about the power of Truth over Power. Not just as the Truth in Media founder and publisher in this lifetime. Because I (more than) was once there, on the other side of the Truth. Trying to suppress it.

See that bearded guy in the above picture? That was me – Pope Julius II – over 500 years ago (1443-1513). I was born as Giuliano della Rovere, the son of Rafaello della Rovere, nephew of Pope Sixtus IV (Francesco della Rovere). My mother was Theodora Manerola, a lady of Greek ancestry.

That’s also when Copernicus (1473-1543) and Da Vinci (1452-1515) and Michelangelo (1475-1564) and Raphael (1483-1520) and many other Renaissance greats also lived and worked.  And while I was always an art and music patron, I was also one of the most powerful rulers of that era, earning the nickname “Warrior Pope.”

Here’s an excerpt from the Encyclopedia Britannicaa:

“Julius II, original name Giuliano della Rovere, (born Dec. 5, 1443, Albisola, Republic of Genoa—died Feb. 21, 1513, Rome), (was the) greatest art patron of the papal line (reigned 1503–13), and one of the most powerful rulers of his age.

Although he led military efforts to prevent French domination of Italy, Julius is most important for his close friendship with Michelangelo and for his patronage of other artists, including Bramante and Raphael. He commissioned Michelangelo’s “Moses” and paintings in the Sistine Chapel and Raphael’s frescoes in the Vatican.”

So like Copernicus and Da Vinci five centuries years ago, like Assange and Snowden today. Five centuries from now, people will be mocking the likes of Obama, Bush, Clinton… just as we now ridicule the popes of the Middle Ages, and accept Copernicus’ Truth as self-evident.
