INTERNATIONAL DAY OF WOMEN
Today, March 8, is the International Women’s Day. But you’d never know it if you live in America. Because it is not an officially sanctioned “Hallmark holiday.” That would be Mother’s Day, which is in May. Never mind that this “holiday” ignores billions of women who are not mothers.
So while the rest of the world today honors women at large – grandmothers, mothers, sisters, daughters – if you see this day mentioned in America at all, it would be associated with feminist ideas. And the associated themes – sexual harassment, gender equality (aka feminist supremacy), lesbian rights, and other militant movements.
THE DAY OF LOVE AND APPRECIATION
Yet this day, March 8, is about LOVE that we receive and give women. For, without them and their nurturing, none of us would exist. Somehow, that message is lost in all the hateful drum-beating that the forces of the New World Order have hoisted upon the feminist movement:
WOMEN’S DAY 2018 BIKE RIDE, BLOOD RED ROSE
That was two years ago. This year – 2018 – I also did a bike ride in honor of all the women in my life, though not as arduous as that one to Tom’s Thumb.
Before that, I presented Elizabeth with this blood red rose, a gift from our back yard. It has been the only rose to bloom so far this year. And it opened just in time for this year’s Women’s Day.
It looks like velvet, doesn’t it?
